ABOUT LARRY CHEUNG

I’m a bit of a golf geek. Having worked in the golf industry since I was 17, my love, knowledge, and appreciation for the game has led me to immerse myself in all aspects of game improvement.

In these past 7 years, I’ve been fortunate to have worked, and continue to work with the best coaches and golf minds in Ontario, becoming an expert in various areas of the game, from playing the game, club-fitting, swing-analysis, and implementing the necessary changes for improvement.

As a recent graduate from the University of Toronto, I started Larry Cheung Golf to provide expert coaching, offering golfers a platform for improvement, in this game we all love. While at the same time, training and working on my own game, improving my knowledge and capabilities to offer my best to you.

Since 2010, Larry has shown a lot of passion for how the golf swing works and has advanced his knowledge by studying and spending time with the best coaches in Toronto. He has continued to advanced his powers with the expertise acquired through his representation of Kvest and Foresight and as his golf coach, I know he understands how to properly measure with video and launch monitors. His swing is the only advertising he needs.
Nick Starchuk, PGA of Canada Class A Professional, Golf Coach, 2013 Ontario PGA Teacher of the Year
I’ve been fortunate in getting to know Larry over the years and to see his progress as a player, coach and person has been tremendous. As a professional golfer and instructor myself, I very much value Larrys insight and opinion. I’ve been around many of the best coaches and players in the golf industry, and I can say that Larry is right there in terms of his ability to make quick positive change in his students.
Ryan Corbin, Former PGA Tour Canada Player, Golf Coach
Coming up as a competitive junior and college player in Canada, I was fortunate to be trained by the likes of Sean Foley and Dave Woods. After finding a job and adjusting my playing schedule accordingly, I had to find someone I can trust who understood swing mechanics and performance to the level that I was accustomed to. Larry Cheung was that guy. Being a scratch player prior to even meeting Larry did not faze him at all. In fact, since connecting with Larry, my understanding of the swing has increased and the ball-striking results back that up!
Richard Persaud, University of Toronto Golf Team Member 2007-2012 (Captain from 2010-2012)
As someone who has struggled consistently the last couple years with short game yips, I was desperate to get over it. Larry was quick to spot the problem and not only got rid of the yips but turned chipping and pitching into a strength. This continued to working with Larry over this past winter into this current season and I am pleased to see my golf game reach a new level. Working on the swing over the winter months has translated into over 20 yards gained off the tee… with a tighter dispersion too. With renewed confidence I achieved a personal best tournament score during the summer of 2016 that would not have been possible without Larry’s help this past year. I am confident that under his guidance I will only continue to score lower and more often.
Wesley Kwok, Ottawa University Golf Team Member, Mcmaster University Golf Team Member 2012-2016
It’s rare to come across a good friend and someone as dedicated to golf as Larry. He is a true athlete. I have caddied for him a few times and I admire his passion for golf. I’m proud of him, with the things he has and will accomplish because I truly believe he possesses the knowledge and capability for greatness. Above all, he is a great friend. He was there to give me words of encouragement in times I needed it the most.
Louise Manalo, Lynn University Golf Team Member (2011-2015), 2014 NCAA Division II Individual Champion, 2013/2014 NCAA Division II Team Champion
My relationship with Larry dates back to 2012 as teammates on the University of Toronto Varsity Blues Mens Golf Team. The ball striking fundamentals that he preaches, combined with his proficiency in game improvement technology form the basis of his credibility. Furthermore, it is his passion for the game and his meticulous work ethic that proved infectious to many of us who have had the privilege to work with him. With Larry’s enthusiastic, disciplined, and knowledgeable style of instruction, I have no reservation in recommending him to golfers of all skill levels.
